As temperatures rise in early Spring, the trees are tapped. Too early — the sap won’t flow. Too late — the harvest is diminished.
On warm days following a cold night, the sap flows down within the tree and out through the tap, where it is collected.
Sap is boiled in the sugar shack, thickening as water evaporates. On average, 40 litres of sap will make just 1 litre of maple syrup.
The syrup is filtered to ensure the smoothest, most translucent consistency.
The syrup is graded into four different categories; Golden Delicate, Amber, Dark and Very Dark.
The Pure Dark Maple Syrup is produced in Quebec, Canada and then shipped to the UK. Its journey ends on your table being enjoyed in your recipes.
All our maple syrup is vegan friendly. We are the only UK maple syrup brand approved by The Vegan Society.
What does organic mean? It means no chemicals or pesticides were used in production or were present in the vicinity of the maple trees. The trees are only tapped in two places instead of three. Our organic products sport a distinctive green bottle cap making them easy to identify on the shelf.
How is it sustainable? Our deliciously sweet maple syrup is produced naturally in trees by Mother Nature. Each maple harvest season, the trees are tapped in a different position from the year before. This preserves their health and enforces the sustainable growth of the trees.
Our glass bottles are fully recyclable, including the caps. So enjoy our maple syrup knowing the planet thanks you.
